Alfred State College sophomore baseball players JP Frey (Erie, PA/McDowell) and Tyler Mann (Holland Patent) have been named All-WNYAC following the Pioneers fall season. ASC finished the fall campaign with a 4-11 overall record and a 3-10 WNYAC mark.
Frey, a first team selection, led the Pioneers with a .311 batting average (14 for 45). He collected a double, a triple, and 3 RBI while stealing eight bases and scoring four runs. Frey was named All-WNYAC and All-Region last season.
Mann, a honorable mention selection, was the blue & gold's top pitcher this fall. He made six appearances (five starts) and had a 0.76 ERA. He allowed 24 hits in 35.2 innings while alking 17 and striking out 32. He held opponents to a .183 batting average. Mann didn't get much run support and had a 1-4 record with a save.
The Pioneers will return to action in March when they travel to Florida for their annual spring trip.
