Alfred State College running back Nabil Ra'Qib El-Amin (Rochester/Wilson) has been honored by the NJCAA by being named honorable mention All-American.  El-Amin is the 6th Pioneer in football history to be named All-American.

El-Amin, a preseason All-American selection, rushed for 911 yards on 134 carries (6.8 yards per carry average) for the 5-5 Pioneers.  He scored 10 rushing touchdowns on the season.  Out of the backfield he caught a team-high 22 passes for 327 yards (14.9 yards per catch average) and 4 touchdowns.  El-Amin also returned 11 punts for 76 yards and 15 kickoffs for 356 yards.  He accumulated 1670 yards of total offense on the year.

His best performance of the season came in the season opener vs. Stevens Tech when he rushed for 279 yards and two scores.  He also rushed for over 100 yards vs. Brockport JV (104 yards) and the Niagara X-Men (118 yards).  Out of the backfield he had a 100 yard receiving day (105 yards) versus Utica College JV. 

This follows a freshmen season where he rushed for 447 yards on 68 carries and caught 18 passes for 340 yards.  He scored eight touchdowns on the season.  He also had 89 yards in kickoff returns and 6 yards in punt returns.

For his career he finishes with 2,552 all-purpose yards and 22 touchdowns.

Alfred State College head coach Mick Caba is proud to have another Pioneer named All-American.  "It is very satisfying to learn of this honor for Nabil.  It is a tremendous honor and well deserved.  I have enjoyed coaching Nabil and it has been exciting to watch him play.  In addition to his football success it has been especially rewarding to watch how Nabil has developed as a student and a person during his two years with us.  I expect to see Nabil spending his Saturdays the next two seasons playing major college football."

El-Amin joins Leroy Collins, Jeff Duggins, Cornell Johnson, Codera Jackson, and Lennox Norville as the football programs All-Americans.
