Cross Country Remains Steady in Poll

The Alfred State cross country teams remained steady in this week's NJCAA Division III poll. The women's team remained in the #3 position while the men are ranked #5.

The Alfred State cross country teams remained steady in this week's NJCAA Division III poll. The women's team remained in the #3 position while the men are ranked #5.


Both the men and the women finished 11th at the DeSales Invitational this past weekend.  Jordan Rusek (Williamsville East) was the top male finisher on the 8k course. Rusek finished 24th in 28:07.6. Jed Platt (Barker) was 25th (28:14.0).  On the women's side Kim Lupo (Auburn) was the top female finisher. She finished the 6k course in 46th (27:01.8). Claire Holleran (Penfield) was 59th (27:23.9).


Gloucester (NJ) CC took over the top spot in the women's poll followed by Mohawk Valley CC, Alfred, Delhi, Ocean CC, Suffolk CC, Howard (MD) CC, Joliet (IL) College, Herkimer CCC, and Fashion Institute of Technology.


Harper (IL) College heads the men's poll followed by Gloucester, Delhi, Mohawk Valley, Alfred, Howard, Ocean, Suffolk, Lorain (OH) CC, and Queensborough CC.


The cross country team has this week off before heading to the Region III Championships on October 27th at Mohawk Valley CC.
