The Alfred State College women's cross country team remains #1 in the lastest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Lady Pioneers shared the honor last week but hold it by themselves this week.  ASC's men are ranked #6 for the second straight week.

The Alfred State College women's cross country team remains #1 in the lastest NJCAA Division III poll.  The Lady Pioneers shared the honor last week but hold it by themselves this week.  ASC's men are ranked #6 for the second straight week.

The Lady Pioneers earned 290 points in this week's poll to claim the top spot. They are followed by SUNY Delhi (260), Mohawk Valley CC (250), and Hudson Valley CC (190).

Last weekend, ASC finished 10th in team competition at the Houghton College Highlander Invitational.  The Lady Pioneers were led by Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) who finished 38th with a time of 20:02.77.  She was the top NJCAA finisher and earned NJCAA Division III cross country female athlete of the week for her solid performance.

The men earned 100 points in the lastest poll.  They trail SUNY Delhi (300), Harper College (270), Moahwk Valley CC (240), Gloucester CCC (210), and Hudson Valley CC (180) in the poll.

Both the men and women have the weekend off but will return to action on October 8th when they travel to Westfield, MA for the James Earley Invitational.  This is a preview of the NJCAA Division III championship course.
