Alfred State College sophomore cornerback John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) has been selected to play in the Inaugural Triumphant Sports Bowl.  The Triumphant Sports Bowl will feature 55 players from NJCAA schools taking on 55 players from California Community College Athletic Association schools in Mesa, AZ.

John ChisolmAlfred State College sophomore cornerback John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) has been selected to play in the Inaugural Triumphant Sports Bowl.  The Triumphant Sports Bowl will feature 55 players from NJCAA schools taking on 55 players from California Community College Athletic Association schools in Mesa, AZ.

Chisolm finished the 2007 season with a team high nine interceptions for the 3-7 Pioneers.  His nine interceptions was tops in the Northeast Football Conference and broke the school record for most interceptions in a season.

Chisolm also was credited with 25 tackles (15 solo), 18 pass break-ups, and one fumble recovery.  He also returned an interception for a touchdown and finished with 31 yards on three kick returns.

Chisolm, who played wide receiver as a freshman, started the season off fast with four interceptions in the season opener versus Stevens Tech.  The big day earned him NJCAA defensive player of the week honors and Northeast Football Conference defensive player of the week honors.

Joining Chisolm in Arizona are fellow NFC players AJ McKenna (Lackawanna), Aaron Valentin (Erie CC), and John Rachuna (Erie CC).

The Triumphant Sports Bowl will kick-off at 1:25 p.m. (MST) at Dobson High School.  The game is scheduled to be televised by ION Media.
