Alfred State College sophomore Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III female athlete of the week for the third time during the 2009-10 season. Brooks led the Lady Pioneers to two convincing victories last week.
Brooks scored 66 points as the Lady Pioneers won their first two games of 2010. She scored 40 points on 18 for 26 shooting in a victory over Elmira JV. She also collected 13 rebounds, six assists, six blocks, and three steals. In the WNYAC opener vs. Niagara CCC she finished with 26 points, nine boards, five assists, three blocks, and two steals. On the year she is averaging 25 points per game.
