Chris Dalton (Elmira Southside) and Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX)  combined for 10 three-pointers as Alfred State downed Niagara CCC 80-73 in the Pioneers WNYAC opener.  The victory improves ASC to 7-9 on the season.

Chris Dalton (Elmira Southside) and Neil Wilson (Ft. Worth, TX)  combined for 10 three-pointers as Alfred State downed Niagara CCC 80-73 in the Pioneers WNYAC opener.  The victory improves ASC to 7-9 on the season.

Dalton and Wilson were each 5 for 10 from beyond the three-point arc.  Dalton finished with a team high 21 points while Wilson had 19 and added eight assists.  Jose Stable (Brooklyn/EBC-Bushwick) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 14 boards.  Younatan Gobezai (Bethesda, MD) finished with 10 while Reggie Corley (Elmira Free) chipped in eight points and 10 rebounds.

AJ Roberts led the Blazers with 32 poitns and eight boards while Dyrell Dolson finished wtih 12 points and eight rebounds.  Charles Shellman chipped in nine points and eight boards.

The Pioneers used to a late first half run to build a 31-24 halftime lead and built their lead to as many as 16 before NCCC rallied and cut the lead down to one.  ASC got a key three pointer from both Wilson and Dalton to seal the victory in the final minutes.

ASC shot 40.6% from the field while NCCC shot 38.1%.  The Pioneers finished the day 10 for 27 from behind the arc.

The blue & gold travel to the Olean YMCA on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. tip-off versus JCC-Olean.
