Big Innings Cost Lady Pioneers

The Lady Pioneers gave up big inning in both of their contests on Wednesday as they fell twice, 8-0 to Herkimer CCC and 9-6 to Danville (IL) Area College, in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Lady Pioneers head into their final day of their trip with a 1-5 mark.

The Lady Pioneers gave up big inning in both of their contests on Wednesday as they fell twice, 8-0 to Herkimer CCC and 9-6 to Danville (IL) Area College, in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The Lady Pioneers head into their final day of their trip with a 1-5 mark.

Herkimer broke open a close game with a four-run 6th inning.  The Pioneers never could muster much offense finishing with four single in the game.

Danville used a six-run 3rd inning to take control of the nightcap and was able to hold off a 7th inning rally by the Lady Pioneers.  Trailing 9-3 heading into the bottom of the 7th, ASC plated three runs and had the tying run on deck when DAC recorded the final out.

Tara Scholla (Genesee Valley) led the way with a 2 for 4, 2 RBI day while Amber Harding (Fillmore) was 2 for 4 with a double.  Kate Bailey (West Valley) chipped in a two-RBI double.

ASC wraps up their annual southern trip on Thursday with a 9 a.m. game vs. Delaware Tech (Owens) and a 11 a.m. contest with Rochester (MN) CTC.
