The Alfred State baseball spent last Saturday assisting in the cleanup of Orebed Creek in the Wellsville/Shongo area.  The Orebed Creek is a tributary to the Genesee River.

The Pioneers spent the afternoon removing tires and other debris out of the creek and moving it up the hill so it can be disposed of in a proper fashion.

The clean up is part of a process that hopes to reclaim this stream and restore fishing/wildlife to this part of the Genesee watershed.

The project was joint effort coordinated by baseball coach Jason Cronin, director of civic engagement Jonathan Hilsher, and culinary arts professor Brent Kelley.
