The Alfred State College men's basketball team had four players finish in double-figures as they improved to 4-0 on the year with a 66-54 victory over Corning CC.  The Red Barons fall to 2-2 on the year.

The Alfred State College men's basketball team had four players finish in double-figures as they improved to 4-0 on the year with a 66-54 victory over Corning CC.  The Red Barons fall to 2-2 on the year.

Dusty Marshall (Newfield) led A-State with 15 points and seven rebounds while Cerrone Jackson (Forrest Hills) added 12 points, five assists, and five rebounds.  Jimmie Dillard (Gates Chili) and Travis Brannen (Elmira Free) each chipped in 11 points.  Jerome Hall (Cicero North Syracuse) came off the bench and finished with seven points and six rebounds.

Andrew Ratchford led Corning with 15 points on five 3-pointers while Mike Alson finished with 14 points.  Coty Cron chipped in 10 while Rodney Bartholomew finished with a game-high 12 rebounds.

ASC held a 27-23 at half but was able to push the lead to 14 points with just over six minutes remaining in the contest. 

CCC held a 42 to 38 advantage on the boards but shot only 35.5% from the field while the PIoneers shot 43.9%.

The Pioneers return to action on Sunday when they host Lakeland (OH) CC at 3 p.m.
