The Office of Alumni Affairs at
Alfred State College (ASC) announces plans for its annual reunion, "Bake at the
Lake," to be held Friday and Saturday, July
27-28.

Festivities begin on Friday night,
July 27, with registration and dorm check-in for those alumni who will be
staying on campus in Braddon Hall.  From
8 p.m. until midnight, revelers will gather in downtown Alfred--at Alex's and
GJ's--to catch up with old friends.

On Saturday, July 28, dorm check-in
will resume at Braddon Hall, from 9-11:30
a.m.  The campus fitness
center in Orvis will be available to reunion visitors, free of charge.  A fun run is scheduled from 9-10 a.m. under
the direction of ASC's track and field coach Gary Moore,'76, who will lead the
pack of energetic alumni on a running tour of the ASC campus and the town.

For those
less energetic, a historical walking tour of campus, led by an Admissions tour
guide, will visit campus buildings, including classrooms, residence halls, the
Orvis Activities Center, and current construction sites.  Alumni will are sure to be "wow-ed" by the
new townhouse-style residence halls which will welcome students in August.

Another tour (9-11 a.m.), this time of the School of Applied
Technology Campus in Wellsville, will allow
visitors a view of classroom buildings, renovations, and current building
projects.

From 10:30-11:30 a.m., the ASC Alumni Association Board of
Directors will hold its annual meeting.
Alumni need not be on the board to attend.

A Farm Complex Open House, noon - 3 p.m., will offer tours of the College Farm and outline plans for the new Center for Organic and Sustainable
Agriculture renovations.

Beginning at 11:30 a.m., a free shuttle bus will be
available to take alumni and their families to Lake Lodge
for the Bake at the Lake barbecue, which will
be held from noon to 8 p.m.  Passengers will be picked up and discharged
in the Huntington
Administration Building
parking lot.

Activities planned throughout the
day, include Bocce ball, a fishing derby (bring your own poles), a nature walk,
card games, Frisbee, volleyball, and badminton.

Additionally, a
petting zoo with a variety of Alfred State Farm animals is planned.  This will be a hands-on experience for people
of all ages. From 4 - 8 p.m. there will be live entertainment featuring
favorite tunes from the '70s, '80s, and '90s.

Additionally, honored
classes will be recognized during the reunion; these include those reunion
classes celebrating their 50th (Class of 1957), 25th
(Class of 1982), and 10th (Class of 1997) anniversaries.
