In a back and forth soccer match at Pioneer Stadium, Genesee CC advanced to the Region III Division III Pool A finals with a 7-6 penalty kick victory over Alfred State College. ASC and GCC both scored twice in the first half but neither team could find the back of the net in the second half or either of the two 10-minute overtime periods.
Genesee got on the board first with 37:57 remaining in the first half when Chelsea Williams found the back of the net. In the penalty kicks ASC jumped to a 3-2 lead and had three different opportunities to win the match but were unable to get the winner. In the 10th round, Kelsey Traxler scored and Haley Post's (Jasper Troupsburg) shot rang off the top crossbar and out of the net to seal the victory for GCC.
