Alfred State and Niagara CCC played to a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon. With the tie the Pioneers are now 2-5-3 on the season.

Alfred State and Niagara CCC played to a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon.  With the tie the Pioneers are now 2-5-3 on the season.


Dane Dechau (Randolph) scored his first career goal just five minutes into the game to give the Pioneers an early lead after getting a pass from Shane Joyce (Irondequoit).  Dechau made it 2-0, 18 minutes later.


Niagara was able to rally late in the 1st half with goals in the 38th minute and 44th minute to tie the game.


Neither team could find the back of the net in the 2nd half or in either of the two 10-minute overtime periods.


Alfred held a 15 to 6 shot advantage on the day.


The blue & gold will have a few days off before returning to action on Thursday when they travel to Erie CC for a 5 p.m. contest.
