We have learned how to do medical work and I am looking forward in my future semesters to learning more about artificial insemination and more about genetics. The hands-on opportunities I have gotten here are valuable. These experiences have opened a whole field of careers that were not previously available to me.”

Over 700 students experience Alfred State programs at VAST event

“We have students from all over Western New York and from as far away as the other side of Syracuse here. This is not a typical kind of open house. Most of the activities are interactive so they got to experience soldering, driving excavators, wiring electrical circuits, and judging dairy cows. There were forty activities and almost every department on campus was involved.”

WNY Works builds skills to launch fulfilling careers

“WNY Works is a collaborative effort to heighten awareness and interest in associate degrees, certificates, and non-credit training to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for individuals to launch high-demand careers. The goal of this effort, in part, is to reframe perceptions of learning opportunities that lead to careers such as highly skilled trades and technical opportunities in manufacturing.”
