In my effort to keep all
constituencies informed as the New York State budget process evolves,
the following summarizes the impact that Governor Paterson's budget
proposal may have on Alfred State. You'll recall
from my earlier communication that there were three types of possible
budget cuts that would substantially affect the college. They were: the
non-funding of negotiated salary increases, the state's redirection of
90% of the revenue from tuition increases, and
a SUNY base budget cut.

featuring a New Orleans-style menu, on Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 5-7 p.m., in the

Alfred State College sophomore infielder Derek Speaker (Starpoint) has been named to the NJCAA Division II Pre-season All-American 1st team. Speaker is the only representative of Region III in the any of the three teams.
Alfred State College sophomore outfielder Katherine McCarthy (Orchard Park) has been named a NJCAA Division III 2nd team pre-season All-American. McCarthy is one of six players from Region III to be honored.
