Equipment List

Before entering the laboratory to work, students must have tools that are used in this particular trade. These will be the personal tools of each student who is responsible for their care and safekeeping. It is recommended that the students have these tools insured under the parents' or the student's homeowners' insurance.

Required Tier 1 Laptop computer (no tablets)- shop online.

The required tools below should be of good quality and in good condition. Acceptable tools are sold under the trade names: Rigid, Plumb, Stanley, and Craftsman.

Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • GREEN hard hat

  • Safety glasses with Z87 approved side shields (prescription glasses must have approve Z87 side shields)
  • Gloves (1 pair of leather and 2 pairs of Jersey 100% cotton)
  • Work boots (steel toe)

Uniforms

Three (3) uniform shirts must be ordered from the campus bookstore. Place your order online or you may call 607-587-4020 to place your order.

Books

Throughout the school year, students will be required to purchase certain textbooks that are available at the campus bookstore at a total cost of approximately $600. Each student will also need a 3-hole ring binder with lined notepaper. You may visit the campus bookstore for pricing/ordering information and ISBN numbers.

Third Semester

  • Box of Sharpie markers (10/box)
  • Good quality cordless impact driver 18 volt or higher
  • Good quality multi-meter that will test both AC and DC voltage and ohms
  • Good quality electric meter that will test amperage (you may be able to find one meter that will do amp draw and measure voltages like the multi-meter)
