8/2000-present               Alfred State College                       Wellsville, NY   Instructor§     Responsible for the instruction and curriculum coordination of the Computer and Electronics System Technician curriculum.§     Teaching courses in computer repair, networking, server technologies while preparing students for CompTIA certifications (A+, Network+, Server+).§     Responsible for purchase of new materials and technologies for coursework.

10/1997–8/2000             Jones Memorial Hospital                Wellsville, NY Director Information Systems§     Responsible for design, purchasing, implementation and maintenance of all information system hardware and software.  Hardware included servers, PCs, printers, fiber optic network, switches, hubs, and all LAN and WAN equipment.§     Designed and negotiated contracts, purchased and installed new information system of 15 Windows NT servers, fiber optic switched network, 100gb storage farm, tape backup, and electrical backup systems.  Continue to add and upgrade systems and software as needs change.§     Continually train on and implement Meditech integrated hospital information system§     Write custom programs in Visual Basic§     Supervise a staff of 2 analysts, 1 technician, and 2 operations staff. §     Define, document, and implement procedures hospital wide for use of technology§     Responsible for information system budgets.

1993-1997                     Alfred State College                            Alfred, NY User Support Manager§     Involved in purchase of all PC, network and mainframe hardware and software for a network of 1400 PCs.§     Supervised from 5 to 7 technical staff in all aspects of installation, repair, and troubleshooting of equipment and software.§     Supervised campus help desk staff§     Remained involved with systems and networking.

1989-1993                     Alfred State College.                           Alfred, NY System and Network Manager§     Installed, updated, maintained and customized system software for VAX/VMS mainframe environment as well as PC systems.§     Involved in purchase, installation, and maintenance of all mainframe computers as well as all network hardware including fiber optics, switched, hubs, routers, etc.§     During this period as well as years previously, I taught both credit and non-credit courses at Alfred State College in operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and programming languages.  1981-present     Compu-Ed Computer Sales and Service§     Owner and operator of a thriving computer sales and service business covering a large area.§     Provide hardware, software, networking, and programming consulting services to area businesses.
