Michael Colomaio (Context, Relator, Belief, Connectedness, Strategic) has a BA History/Secondary Education from SUNY Geneseo, and MS ED Reading/Education from Alfred University. He is currently teaching in the Social and Behavioral Science Department, since 1998. He teaches American History, American Government, International Relations and Foundation of Education. He serves on the Faculty Senate, chairing the Curriculum Development and Review Committee, serving on the Senate Assessment and General Education committee, International Education Committee and Collaborative High School Teaching Committee. He has served as adviser to the Student Senate since 2003 and as adviser to Pi Nu Epsilon Sorority since 2010. He is very active in the Hornell Area; he has been on the board of directors of Hornell Area Concern for Youth since 1989, currently serving as Vice President. Mike has also been active in the Knights of Columbus, currently Grand Knight. He has worked with Catholic Charities supporting the annual Walk a Mile campaign and served as Vice President of Historic Hornell Inc. a preservation society. Mike is also a former board member of Hornell Area Arts Council. Last year he found himself the recipient of both Spirit of Service Award and the two Dean of Liberal Arts and Science Apple Awards. He has traveled to Ireland a few times and to Alaska, and enjoys photography, reading, and being with his family and friends.
