First Time Users
The first time you login to Banner Web your user ID will be your 800 ID#. If you do not know this you can use your SS#. The PIN will be sent shortly after applying to the mailing address you provided on your Alfred State application.
After you enter your user ID and PIN, you will be asked to create a new login PIN (six characters, alpha, numeric digits, or a combination of both.) This screen will ask you to re-enter your initial PIN (which is randomly generated) and then enter your new six-character PIN, and to verify your new PIN. Click on Login.
Use the login PIN number you created the first time you used the system. If you have forgotten your PIN, enter your User ID (Social Security # or your 800 Student Number), and click on Forgot Pin. Your self-established hint question will appear. When you answer this question correctly, Banner Web will allow you to reset your PIN. Please remember your response to your hint question is case sensitive.
NOTE: WHEN CREATING YOUR NEW LOGIN PIN, BE SURE TO MAKE IT: 1) easy to remember, and 2) a six-character alpha-numeric PIN. The feature requiring you to submit a self-established hint question and answer will assist you if you forget your PIN in the future.
The bus schedule does not allow time for you to complete the orientation program including registering for your fall classes. If you are arriving by bus, it will be necessary for you to stay overnight an additional evening in order to be able to participate in the entire day's program. Please contact the Orientation Office by phone: (607) 587-3114 or e-mail: email@example.com.
Usually, college costs more than a student earns in a few extra days of work. There is an incredible amount of information that new students need to be made aware of. Orientation is the best way of getting this information to new students. Also, one of the main components of the student's day will be to schedule classes.
Students can check which textbooks are needed after registering for fall courses but it is recommended that you get your textbooks after the first day of classes. Most students use their Campus Spending Account to acquire textbooks and supplies. This account does not become active until after academic registration.
Even though you may be attending the School of Applied Technology in Wellsville, you are still an Alfred State student. Certain policies and procedures that will be covered during Orientation are important and pertain to all students.
Orientation isn't a moneymaker. The costs passed on to you are for printing, postage, student staff, overnight accommodations, and the programs and activities that occur during summer Orientation and for fall start-up activities.
Yes. All full-time new and transfer students (excluding Internet students*) will be assessed a mandatory $100 orientation fee on their tuition bill. Optional guest, sibling, and accommodation fees should be processed online using BannerWeb when you register for orientation.
Alfred State College believes that appropriate parental involvement is an essential component of student success. For many, the anwer to this question depends upon the individual family and its student.
