Alfred State Concert Choir Alumni Organization

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Anthony C. Cappadonia Endowment Fund

The Alfred State Concert Choir Alumni Organization was formed in 1957 and maintains an active membership of over 500. This organization supports the current concert choir with their donations and fundraising efforts in order to provide scholarships for present choir members. Thanks to the generosity of its members, the Choir Alumni was able to establish an endowed scholarship fund known as Anthony C. Cappadonia Endowment Fund to be used by the college to assist students. Once a year, in April, Alumni from all over the United States return to attend the Choir Alumni Weekend which includes a combined concert with the present college choir, an awards program and a dinner/dance.

Anthony C. Cappadonia Auditorium Naming

The enduring legacy of Alfred State College's performing arts began when, in 1951, Anthony "Cappy" Cappadonia joined the College as instructor in the Music Department and director of the choral and instrumental groups. From the beginning, Cappy became an icon at the College.

We are very pleased to report almost $50,000 has been raised to date towards the $100,000 goal for the Anthony C. Cappadonia auditorium renovation project. We are also excited to inform you that the College has increased the amount of funding available from $250,000 to $400,000 to expand the scope of enhancements that will transform the auditorium. Therefore, there will be $500,000 in renovations completed to the auditorium. This renovation and naming is a wonderful tribute to Cappy’s lasting legacy on campus as well as in the community.

Your support is very important to this project and will ensure that all of the renovations will be complete. All gift levels are greatly appreciated and have a tremendous impact. Your name will be engraved, if your gift is received by March 31, on a permanent plaque which will be mounted in the auditorium at the dedication during the Alumni Choir Concert on April 29, 2012. We hope that you will be able to attend and enjoy the celebration.

You may make your gift online. To pay by check, please indicate so on the Web form and make your check payable to ASC Development Fund, Inc., note the Anthony C. Cappadonia Auditorium project in the memo, and send the check to:
