Tutoring Labs

Writing Center

The Writing Center provides free drop-in writing assistance for any written assignment. For any course, no matter how long the assignment, you can stop in to work with one of our Writing Center proctors. They will work through the piece with you, helping you to identify errors and growth areas.

The Writing Center (located in SDC 203 & 204) is open:

Monday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Tuesday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Wednesday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Friday 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Math Lab

Similar to the Writing Center, the Math Lab provides free drop-in math assistance for any math-related course. This includes physics, statistics, and all upper-level math courses (i.e. calculus, technical calculus, differential equations) - please review the downloadable schedule to see proctor specialties and availability. Computers are available to access online math content, and experienced, qualified proctors are ready to assist when you need it.

The Math Lab (located in SDC 102) is open:

Tuesday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Wednesday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Thursday 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

ELL/ESL & Grammar Lab

Alfred State offers dedicated assistance for students who identify themselves as English Language Learners and English as a Second Language as well as Grammar Tutoring. Download the ELL/ESL lab schedule (pdf).

We want you to get the help you need when you need it! So, the Learning Lab will be open Monday – Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m.

The Learning Lab will support most 1000 and 2000 level courses in psychology, sociology, business, accounting, economics, biology, chemistry and physics.

The great part, these tutoring services will be provided in the SLC Org Suite (next to the bookstore). Stop in to see how we can help you!
