All vehicles need to be registered with UPD and a sticker affixed to the window to be legal.
There is no overnight parking in the commuter lots. Specifically lots #4, 9, 21, and 22. This is for snow removal purposes. Please cooperate so the snow crew can clear these lots effectively.
Students cannot park in any faculty/staff area. Violators will be ticketed. The Parking Map has more information on parking locations and is available for download in a PDF format.
There will be no special Wellsville permits issued this year due to construction projects changing the demands on faculty/staff parking. Therefore, Wellsville students cannot park in the faculty/staff areas overnight.
Permits will available at the Victorian House (University Police). See the Parking Registration page to see the times when parking permits may be picked up. Please be prepared to show your current registration and a current driver's license when registering your vehicle.
Student permits are $50.00 for the first permit and $11.00 for each additional permit.
Faculty and Staff Permits are available for $5.00 for each vehicle. Please have all information available with you as new forms have to be filled out.
For more information contact the University Police Department at 607-587-3999.
Following discussions by the Campus Committee on Parking and the results of a student survey, the parking ticket appeal system was changed in 2006. The following information is provided regarding the appeal system at Alfred State College:
Those receiving a parking ticket have five business days to file an appeal form at the University Police Department located at the Victorian House on Lower College Drive. Appeal forms can be obtained or turned in twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. The five day limit to file an appeal is the same as last year and is printed on the ticket.
After turning in the written appeal form (you must attach typed sheets to the form if your text is longer than the space provided), the Secretary for University Police will copy and send the written appeal to a panel for review. The three member panel will consist of a College staff member, faculty member, and student. Each of those members will review the appeal and independently make a decision on the status of the parking ticket (guilty or dismissal).
Once all panel members return their decisions, the Secretary for University Police will send a written notice to the appealing party notifying him/her of the decision. These decisions are final and the College will not entertain an appeal of the appeal decision.
Questions pertaining to the parking ticket appeal process can be answered by the Secretary for University Police at extension 3992 or the desk personnel at the main desk, extension 3999. Printed copies of the current parking rules and regulations can be obtained at the University Police Department.
