Alfred State's ongoing commitment to sustainability includes a commitment to reduce its carbon footprint by 50 percent over the next five years and incorporating green technologies into select curriculums.
President Dr. John M. Anderson has committed to fighting global warming by signing the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment , joining leaders of other institutions across the country. View the Presidents' Climate Commitment Report online. 
Anderson also recently attended the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) meeting where he joined his fellow college presidents in signing the SEED (Sustainability Education and Economic Development) commitment , the first nationwide initiative to collaborate on and implement programs to train students with the education and skills needed to succeed in the 21st century's green economy.
