BIO 101 - Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology
A non-credit, online course that covers all basic information necessary for a general understanding of the structure and function of the human body. The topics to be covered include organization of the body, chemistry of life, cell structure and function, body tissues and membranes, blood, lymphatics, immunity, human development and birth, and human genetics. The body systems to be covered include integumentary, musculoskeletal, nervous, sensory, endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive. (This course meets AHIMA's Anatomy & Physiology requirement for their Coding Basics program.)
Offered as open enrollment. Students receive up to 17 weeks to complete this course.

HIM 240 - ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS Coding
This online course includes both clinical classification systems. Students will use paper-based coding manuals and electronic encoders to assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes to diagnosis and procedure statements, case studies, and patient records. Study will also include the interpretation of current regulations and established guidelines and application of policies and procedures for use of clinical data required for healthcare reimbursement.
Cost: $299 ($199 for graduates of Alfred State) plus books
