The Office of Marketing and Communications at Alfred State walked away with three coveted MarCom Awards this year
For the third consecutive year, the Office of Marketing and Communications at Alfred State entered several of its best designs into the annual MarCom Awards  competition and took home two Gold Awards and one Honorable Mention. “We are humbled and honored to be recognized by this incredible organization for the third time,” said Debra Root, senior director of marketing and communications. “Like the college itself, we are always looking to improve—striving to find new and better ways to promote Alfred State’s mission.”
The MarCom Awards is an in international creative competition that recognizes exceptional achievements by marketing and communications professionals around the world. It welcomes submissions from any individual or company involved in the concept, writing, and design of print, visual, audio, and web materials and programs. From PR firms to small design shops to Fortune 500 companies, the competition attracts the best and brightest in the industry. The Office of Marketing Communications at Alfred State submitted designs for a parent calendar and a promotional campaign, both of which won Gold Awards, and the Alfred State website , which received an Honorable Mention.
Administered by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals, judges are industry professionals who look for companies whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were more than 6,500 entries in the 2013 competition; only 22 percent of entries earned the coveted Gold Award.
