Alfred State will be hosting “Project Prom Dress” on Saturday, April 20 in the Pioneer Lounge, Pioneer Center, on the Alfred State campus from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This event is for high school girls in the area who need a formal dress for prom season. Guests are welcome to come and ‘shop’ for a donated dress and leave with one of their choice at no cost to them.
Project Prom Dress is being coordinated by Alfred State senior Kayla Franchina of Gerry. Franchina, a human services student, hosted a similar event last year in Chautauqua County. The event collected more than 500 gowns, all of which were given to area girls and others throughout Western New York during prom season.
Anyone who would like to donate a gown should email firstname.lastname@example.org . The event is free and open to the public.
