The Alfred State volleyball team won two of three at the Tompkins Cortland CC Pod on Saturday. The blue & gold are now 23-11 overall and finish Region III Division III regular season with a 14-4 record.
The Lady Pioneers fell 3-2 to Corning CC (25-19, 21-25, 20-25, 25-19, 7-15) in their opener and then defeated Tompkins Cortland CC (25-13, 25-23, 25-8) and Broome CC 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-9).
Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) led the way with 42 kills, 21 digs, and seven aces. Lera Braun (Waterloo) had 98 assists, 19 digs, nine kills, and seven aces, Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) finished with 22 kills and 10 digs, and Brittany Hill (Corning West) had 21 kills. Jessica Ramsey (Tioga) finished with 72 digs.
Alfred returns to action on Tuesday when they host Erie CC at the Orvis Activities Center. The game will be the team's annual Dig Pink event. Fundraisers will be held throughout the night to benefit the Side-Out Foundation.
