Women's soccer player Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) and football player Colin Frazer (Woodbridge, VA) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the month for September.
Muhleisen has netted four hat tricks as the Lady Pioneer soccer team has raced out to a 10-1 record. She leads the team with 44 points on 19 goals and six assists. She has recorded points in nine of the blue & gold's eleven games. Currently she is 4th in NJCAA in both goals and points on the year for the #4 ranked Pioneers.
Frazer's special teams play has been a big reason for the Pioneers 2-1 start to the season. Frazer has two punt returns (89 and 87 yards) for scores and has 246 total yards of punt returns in nine attempts. He also has accumulated 102 yards on kickoff returns in four attempts. Defensively, he has recorded 19 tackles, a sack, and recovered a fumble.
Muhleisen and the Lady Pioneers are next in action at Corning CC on Thursday while Frazier and the football team host St. John Fisher JV on Sunday in their 2012 home opener.
