Offense Struggles vs. Niagara

The Alfred State baseball team collected just three hits (singles) in a doubleheader loss to Niagara CCC.  The Thunderwolves earned 12-0 and 8-0 victories.

In the opener, NCCC scored seven runs in the 1st to take full control of the game.  The Pioneers collected their first hit in the 6th on a single by Eric Hics (Hancock, PA).  Tim Weidman (Wayland Cohocton) added a single in the 7th.

Kyle Craig was 2 for 3 with 4 RBI and Nick Kellner was 2 for 4 with 4 RBI for NCCC.

In the nightcap, Tyler Tubinis was 2 for 3 with 5 RBI to lead Niagara to the sweep.  The Pioneers lone hit came in the 6th on a hard hit single by Anthony Gonzalez (Florida/SS Seward Institute).

Alfred closes out the WNYAC regular season next weekend with a two-day road trip.  On Saturday they travel to Jamestown CC for a 1 p.m. DH and on Sunday they head to Genesee CC for a 1 p.m. tilt.
