Alfred State College is pleased to announce new members to the campus community. Recently hired are Sean Haggerty, Mark Kanellis, and Danielle White.
Haggerty, of Huntersville, NC, has joined the Automotive Trades  faculty as an instructor, teaching brakes, suspension, and steering. Haggerty, a 1998 Alfred State College graduate, has spent the past 11 years working as a mechanic and front tire changer at Stewart-Haas Racing and at Sabco-Ganassi. Additionally, he has worked at an independent garage and dealership. Haggerty serves as a member of the ASC motorsports advisory board.
The son of John and Corrinne Haggerty, Amenia, he is married to the former Trish Leitzell of Scio. They are the parents of Gavin, at home.
Kanellis, of Cortland, has joined the Athletics Department  as the head coach for men’s lacrosse  and director of intramurals . Prior to joining the ASC staff, Kanellis served as a marketing assistant at SUNY (State University of New York) Youth Sport Institute and as lacrosse coach at Cortland High School.
Kanellis holds a master of science degree from SUNY Cortland and a bachelor of science degree from Nazareth College.
The Cortland High School graduate is the son of Mike and Carol Kanellis of Cortland.
White, of Hornell, has been hired as the director of annual giving in the Office of Institutional Advancement , where she oversees the annual fundraising campaigns.
Prior to joining the ASC professional staff, White served as the executive director of fundraising at St. James Mercy Health System, marketing product manager at World Kitchen, and marketing category manager at Pezrow. She holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in marketing from Canisius College.
The Canisteo Central School graduate is the daughter of Deborah Hollowell, Hornell, and Kim Kneale, Hornell. She and her husband Brett are the parents of Jackson, Ava, and Ella, all at home.
Other new hires included Lewis O’Dell, cleaner, East Complex; Shawn Cline, cleaner, Engineering Building; and James Paterniti maintenance assistant, all in Facilities Services; Thressa Cody, calculations clerk 1, and MaryEllen Wood, keyboard specialist 1, both in Student Financial Services ; and Laura Kernan, keyboard specialist 1, Admissions Office .
