The Alfred State College WINS Club (Women In Non-traditional Studies-though the club is open to all students) donated a check for $177.58 to the Anthony Carino Memorial Scholarship. Carino, of Poughquag, was a senior in Alfred State's architectural technology (BS) curriculum who passed away in April after a brief illness. WINS Club members, wishing to memorialize Carino, raised money through pop can and bottle returns collected from other students, faculty, and staff. Pictured in photo in the center, holding the check, is Anthony's sister Lisa Carino, Poughquag, senior, interior design (AAS). On either side of Carino are the co-presidents of WINS and 2008 graduates of the architectural technology (BS) program: Andrea Paul, Breesport, and Jamie Cook, LeRoy. Anyone wishing to donate may contact the College's Development Office at (607) 587-3930.
