The Alfred State College volleyball team remained undefeated in Western New York Athletic Conference matches with a 3-1 victory over Jamestown CC on Tuesday evening.
The Pioneers and Jayhawks split the first two games with A-State winning the first, 30-23, and dropping the second 27-30. ASC took control of the third game early and won 30-17 but had to rally from a 25-19 defecit in game four to win 30-28.
Brianne McMahon (Buffalo/Sweet Home) led the Pioneers with 35 digs and 17 kills. Shannon Jablonski (Cheektowaga) added 32 digs and 11 kills, Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) finished with 21 digs, 14 kills, and four blocks, and Elaina Braun (Waterloo) passed out 46 assists and 16 digs. Natalie Gregory (Iroquois) played solid defense with 25 digs.
The Lady Pioneers, ranked #9 in the NJCAA Division III poll, are now 19-2 overall and 4-0 in WNYAC play. A-State has now won 11 straight contests.
Alfred returns to action on Thursday when they host WNYAC foe Mercyhurst North East at 6 p.m.
