Intramural Rules: 3 on 3 Basketball

  1. Only three people per team on the court at once.
  2. Substitutions can be made after each dead ball or whistle.
  3. Best two out of three games.
  4. Games are 12 minutes or first to 21 points.  Must win by two.
  5. Each basket counts 2 or 3 points for a field goal and 1 point for Foul shots.
  6. Each team is allowed one time out per game and 3 minute rest between games.
  7. One referee per game.
  8. You must take the ball back to the foul line after each basket, rebound or steal.
  9. Regular basketball as far as control is concerned.
  10. Use the full half court lines.
  11. Stalling for more than 30 seconds shall result in a technical foul (automatic 2 points plus the ball)
  12. All non-shooting fouls are 1 and 1
  13. Flip a coin for who gets the ball to start the first game.
  14. The loser of the previous game will get the ball for games 2 and 3.
  15. Three fouls per 12 minutes.  You may return for next game.
  16. If a player is ejected from the game he/she will sit out the next contest vs. a new opponent.
