Summer Orientation Dates & Costs

Orientation space is limited to allow more personal interaction. Please plan to register early to ensure space for guests.

2012 Orientation Dates (Part I)

Note: Part II of orientation will take place the week before classes begin.

Time

Student groups during orientationCheck-in is 8 - 8:45 a.m. in the Orvis Activities Center (Alfred campus). The program runs until 4:30 p.m. It is necessary that you participate in the entire day’s program.

Orientation Costs

All full-time new and transfer students will be assessed a mandatory one-time $100 orientation fee on their student bills (Internet students are excluded except for those in Health Information Technology and Coding & Reimbursement Specialist programs).

Participation fees for guests and overnight accommodations should be paid online when you register using BannerWeb. These participation fees include:

Guest/Sibling Participation Fees

  • $20 per guest for day of orientation
  • $20 per sibling for either the sibling program or guest fee

Accommodations for Optional Overnight Experience

  • $20 per person (students, guests, and siblings)

  • New student programming

Refund Policy

If the student is no longer intending to enroll at Alfred State College, the additional participation fees shall be refunded if both of the following steps are completed:

  • Written request for refund of orientation payments is postmarked on or before June 1 and sent to the Admissions Office, Alfred State College, 10 Upper College Drive, Alfred, NY 14802, and
  • The request must come directly from the student.
