Sibling Program
Alfred State has received national recognition for our sibling program. It's not just recreation or a sitter for young children. We have a full schedule of events awaiting incoming students' brothers and sisters, ages 7-17, during summer orientation.
The program allows siblings the chance to see where students live, learn, and play. It is sure to get siblings excited about attending college themselves.
Parents - Please note that children under the age of 14 cannot attend the student/parent orientation sessions. The sibling program allows you to participate fully in your own program so you can get the most out of your orientation experience as well!
Past sibling programs have included:
- Rock climbing wall
- Sports competitions
- Arts & crafts
- Trivia & scavenger hunts
- Theater-style movies
- Computer & science lab experiments
- A trip to our farm
- A visit to the campus radio station
- Tours of the campus and residence halls to see where their older sibling will live
- College preparatory programs for older siblings
- An Alfred State gift and much more!
Participation Fee
The participation fee of only $20 per sibling covers the cost of the program, meals, snacks, and gifts. Payment should be made online when you register.
