The Alfred State College Sibling Program
Alfred State College has received national recognition for our Sibling Program. It's not just recreation or a sitter for young children. Alfred State has a full schedule of events awaiting the younger brothers and sisters of incoming students during Summer Orientation. Siblings are divided into two age groups to maximize their experience 7 to 12 & 13 to 17 years old.
The program allows siblings the chance to see where students live, learn and play. It is sure to get siblings excited about attending college themselves.
Parents: The Siblings program allows you to participate fully in your own program so you can get the most out of your Orientation experience as well!
For siblings in the program, we offer:
- College preparatory programs for older siblings
- Sports competitions (rock wall)
- Arts & crafts
- Trivia & scavenger hunts
- Tours of the campus and residence halls to see where their older sibling will live
- Theater-style movies
- Computer & science lab experiments
- Meals & snacks
- Trip to our farm
- And much more!
The fee is small - (only $20 per sibling) and covers the cost of the program and several gifts for the siblings.
