Attention Winter Session Students

The offices of the Center for Community Education and Training and Student Records and Financial Services will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26. This is the first day of your winter session course. To ensure you are prepared for any administrative issues that may arise, please read the following announcement:

Tuition & Fees Liability Policy

All tuition and fee liabilities for students who withdraw or take a leave of absence are calculated based on the date of separation as recorded in the Registrar’s Office. A student who decides not to take classes and notifies the college any time after 4 p.m. on Dec. 23 before classes start shall be liable for charges based on the liability schedules below. Students begin incurring charges the first day of the semester, not the day the registration process is completed. A student who is dismissed for academic or disciplinary reasons prior to the end of the academic term, is liable for all costs for that term and shall not be eligible for a reduction of charges or a refund of payment made.

Tuition and Fees Liability Schedule for the Winter Session (Three-week Courses)

  • Through Day 2 – 0% Liability (Dec. 26 – Dec. 27 at 4 p.m.)
  • Day 3 to Day 5 – 65% Liability (After 4 p.m. Dec. 27 – Dec. 30 at 4 p.m.)
  • Day 6 to End – 100% Liability (After 4 p.m. Dec. 30 to End)
  • College Fee and Transcript Fee are non-refundable.

Dropping a Class

Students wishing to drop a class must notify the Student Records and Financial Services Office in writing of their intent to drop a class. E-mail records@alfredstate.edu using “Drop Winter Class” in the subject line. Include your name, student ID number, and class to be dropped. Tuition and fee liability will be assessed based on the date and time the e-mail is sent.
