How to Create and Reply To a Discussion Board Thread

The following tutorial will show you how to reply to a discussion post within blackboard. Instructors use a discussion board as a way of gathering student feedback on a particular topic. If your instructor post something to the discussion board you will have the ability to view and reply to it.

To do so first click on the discussion board button on the left hand side of your screen. The next step is to choose which forum you wish to interact with. Once you have clicked a forum you will then see all the posts on that topic. To view threads simply click on the blue link under the word thread. You will then be able to view the post as well as reply to it by clicking the blue reply button on the lower right hand side of the screen. Once you click reply simply type in the space provided and click the blue submit button on the right hand side of the page and you’re done.

Now we will look at how to create our own thread within blackboard. First click on the discussion board button on the left hand side of your screen. Next choose a forum in which you would like to interact with. Then simply click on the blue create thread button. Type a subject. Then use the space provided to enter your response. Then click the blue submit button and you’re done.
