Students will be able to add their email to most smartphones. Please keep in mind that each phone works differently and that all phones may not support the email feature. If your smartphone supports POP, IMAP, or Exchange, you should be able to add your email to your smartphone. Please contact the Help Desk if you would like operating system specific instructions. Email: Helpdesk@alfredstate.edu. Phone: 607-587-4357.
For a step-by-step instructions on changing your password please look at this guide. If you are on campus you may go to the Alfred State Computer Help Desk on the ground floor of the Hinkle Library with your photo ID and a help desk technician will assist you.
Alfred State student and retired email is being hosted by Microsoft. Your username will continue to be Username@alfredstate.edu for students and Username@retired.alfredstate.edu for retired users. Your username will still be the first six characters of your last name, the first character in your first name and your middle initial.
Microsoft’s Office365 is the new host for student email accounts at Alfred State. Office365 is the type of account you will have, which will allow you access to certain resources. Having an Office365 account means you will have access to many Microsoft resources for free. You will have “cloud-based” storage for documents and pictures as well as access to programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote all right from the web. However, having an Office365 account does not mean your email address will change, it will remain Username@alfredstate.edu.
Alfred State student email accounts are now being hosted by Microsoft’s Office365 service. Since email is now being hosted by Microsoft you will get to a page similar to the Hotmail or Live account login page. Once you log in you will be taken to the Outlook Office365 inbox which is similar to Alfred State’s previous webmail inboxes. You will receive enterprise-class email, calendar, tasks, and contacts. If you want to see what you should expect, please see this guide (pdf).
