Beginning and Intermediate Guitar Lessons

CCET is offering guitar lessons again this spring semester 2018!

Beginner Guitar • 4 - 5 p.m.
Feb. 21, 28, March 7, 21, 28 and April 4 (no class during spring break)

Guitar and music bag on a bench.This course will cover all the fundamentals of guitar playing. This includes tuning your guitar, basic proper fretting and strumming techniques, how to read chord charts and tablature, basic open chords, and basic music theory. If you are a complete novice or a very beginning guitar player, this course is for you. This class aims to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and resources to get you playing songs.

Location: HR Training Room, Pioneer Building
Cost: $75 for six lessons

Intermediate Guitar • 5 - 6 p.m.
Feb. 21, 28, March 7, 21, 28 and April 4 (no class during spring break)

Playing the guitarThis course will offer an introduction and expansion into many intermediate guitar skills. Included subject material will be all open chords, barre chords and movable chords, extended chords (7ths, 9ths, 13ths), the pentatonic scale applied to improvisation, an introduction to finger-picking, strength and endurance building exercises, speed strumming techniques, applied music theory, singing and playing techniques, and playing in a group. This course will seek to take the guitarist who is comfortable playing a few songs with a variety of chords or riffs to the next level.
