Student Vehicle Registration Process

All students planning on bringing and parking a vehicle on the Alfred and Wellsville campuses must have their vehicle registered with the annual $95 parking fee paid. The annual $95 fee cannot be prorated and will cover the fall and spring semesters for the academic year.

Fall Semester Incoming Students

Register Online 

Register your vehicle online when paying and processing your bill on BannerWeb and select:

Student Services & Financial Aid:

  • Registration
  • Bill Processing/Adjustments
  • Pay/Process Bill
  • Select Term
  • Your billing information will appear and under "Adjustable Fees" you will enter your vehicle information (license plate number and state along with vehicle make, color, year).

Obtain Your Parking Permit 

Once you have registered your vehicle online through BannerWeb:

  • Alfred Campus Resident Students will obtain their parking permits during designated registration hours to be announced via Student Announce Email upon arrival to campus beginning mid-week prior to the beginning of fall classes and during the first week of fall classes. Students will pick up their permits at University Police located at the Theta Gamma House. 
  • Alfred Campus Commuter Students (not residing on campus) will obtain their parking permits from University Police located in the Theta Gamma House when first arriving on campus prior to the beginning of classes.
  • Wellsville Campus Commuter Students (not residing on campus and only attending classes at Wellsville) will obtain their parking permits from their curriculum department's secretary when arriving on the campus once classes begin for the semester during normal business hours. Please allow a couple of days after registering online for the permit to be forwarded to the Wellsville campus and disseminated.

* If your vehicle is parked on campus and your parking pass is still being processed, you should proceed to the University Police Department on the Alfred Campus or the Zero Energy Home on the Wellsville Campus to obtain a temporary parking permit to avoid being ticketed. All vehicles parked on either the Alfred or Wellsville campuses must display a parking pass (permanent or temporary) on the rearview mirror of their vehicle at all times.

Once Classes Begin

You may complete a registration form at University Police and obtain your vehicle parking permit at that time and your student bill will automatically be charged the $95 fee of which you should pay immediately at Student Records & Financial Services (late fees are accessed at 30 day intervals).  You may pay by credit/debit card, cash, check, money order or any remaining credit balance from your student account at Student Records & Financial Services located in the Agriculture Science Building Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  You may print the vehicle registration form online (pdf) or complete one at University Police.

Please Note:

  • Parking permits will not be issued to any student until the student bill has been processed.
  • Vehicles are not considered registered unless the parking permit (hang tag) is clearly displayed on the vehicle's rearview mirror while parked on campus.
  • Only one parking permit is issued and assigned to a student with the ability to transfer between vehicles operated by only you while on campus (it is not to be shared with others to serve as their registration).

Spring Semester New Students

Register Online

Faculty and Staff Vehicle Registration Process

All faculty and staff planning on parking a vehicle on the Alfred and Wellsville campuses must have their vehicle registered with the annual $5 parking fee paid.

Fall Semester Faculty and Staff - Prior to Classes Beginning

Register Online:

Faculty and staff should register online prior to the beginning of the fall semester to allow for the processing and timely mailing of their permit. Please register and pay online through BannerWeb and select:

  • Faculty/Staff Home Screen
  • BannerWeb
  • Personal Information
  • Vehicle Registration
  • Credit Card Payment

Parking Permits Mailed:

  • Once registered and paid, your permit will be mailed through campus mail to your department's address.
  • Please make sure your campus address is up-to-date.
  • If for some reason you have not received your permit in the mail within several days:
    • Please contact us by phone 607-587-3999 or email us.
    • Please stop at University Police dispatch and obtain a temporary parking permit.

Unable to Register Online:

Pay at Student Records & Financial Services if you were unable to register online for some reason. You may pay by credit/debit card, cash, check or money order at Student Records & Financial Services located in the Agriculture Science Building Monday thru Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. You will need to take your paid receipt to register and obtain your parking permit from University Police dispatch located in the Theta Gamma House which is open 24/7. You may print the vehicle registration form online (pdf) or fill it out at University Police.

Please Note

  • There is a limitation of one vehicle permit per employee. We will make an exception for an additional permit for $5, if requested with a signed consent form.
  • The permits can be switched out to other vehicles that only you drive to campus.
  • Permits are not to be shared with other individuals to serve as their registration.
