Alfred State volleyball players Kay Pfleghardt (Tioga) and Lera Braun (Waterloo) have been named All-Region following the Lady Pioneers 27-15 season. Pfleghardt was a 1st team selection while Braun was named 2nd team.
The Alfred State volleyball season came to an end at the Region III Division III Tournament this weekend. The Lady Pioneers were 1-2 in pool play and failed to advance to the tournament semifinals.
Football players Mikel DeMonte (Brockport) and Thomas Daniels (Bronx/ICE) along with volleyball player Rebecca Hanrahan (Greene) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the SID office.

The Alfred State volleyball team was 2-1 at the Western New York Athletic Conference tournament held at Genesee CC. The Lady Pioneers head into the Region III Tournament with a 26-13 overall record.
The Alfred State volleyball team closed out the regular season with a 25-18, 25-14, 25-7 victory over Elmira College JV on Wednesday. The Lady Pioneers improve to 24-12 on the year.
Erie CC rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Alfred State 3-2 (20-25, 25-15, 25-12, 15-25, 9-15) in the Lady Pioneers annual Dig Pink game. The Kats improve to 19-8 on the year while the Pioneers are now 23-12.
The Alfred State volleyball team won two of three at the Tompkins Cortland CC Pod on Saturday. The blue & gold are now 23-11 overall and finish Region III Division III regular season with a 14-4 record.
The Alfred State volleyball team will turn in their normal blue jersey's to wear pink on Tuesday, Oct. 16th when they take on Erie CC. The Dig Pink event is part of a nationwide fundraiser for the Side-Out Foundation.
The Alfred State volleyball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a convincing 25-12, 25-8, 25-16 victory over Mercyhurst North East in a WNYAC match-up on Tuesday. The Lady Pioneers are now 21-10 overall on the season and 2-3 in WNYAC matches.
