The Alfred State men's outdoor track & field team finished 9th while the women finished tied for 10th at the NJCAA Division III National Championships in Columbia, MD.
The Alfred State College men's outdoor track & field team is sitting in 5th place while the women are in 7th after day two of competition at the NJCAA Division III National Championships at Howard (Columbia, MD) CC.
The Alfred State women's 4 x 800 relay team raced to the NJCAA Division III National Championship on Thursday afternoon. Bridget McMahon (Avoca), Kelsey Wissert (Scio), Pam Breedlove (Rochester/East), and Carey Crooker (Addison) came from behind to win in a time of 10:17.56.
The Alfred State College athletic department presented their annual end-of-year athletic awards during a ceremony held at the Lake Lodge on May 3rd. The athlete of the year, sportsmanship, leadership, academic, and William Havens awards were presented.
Both the Alfred State College men's and women's outdoor track & field teams finished 4th at the 2010 Region III Championships.
The women's 4 x 800 relay team won a regional championship on Friday in day one of the Region III Championships held at SUNY Delhi.
The Alfred State outdoor track & field team will head into the Region III Championships this weekend ranked #9 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
Alfred State's Eddie Sparks (Horseheads) and Steven Hickey (Rochester/Aquinas) earned the Pioneers six points at the Region III decathlon championships the past two days. Sparks finished 4th in the competition while Hickey was 8th.
The Alfred State 4 x 400 relay team qualified for the NJCAA Division III National Championships with a strong performance at the SUNY G Invitational at Geneseo on Saturday.
