Farrell and Nelson Named SUNY Scholar Athletes

Alfred State College sophomores Alex Farrell (N. Tonawanda) and Taylor Nelson (Somers) have been named SUNY Chancellor's Scholar Athlete award winners.  Farrell is the NJCAA cross country representative while Nelso represents wrestling.

Murphy Named Athlete of the Week

Alfred State College track & field athlete Tara Murphy (Rochester/Wilson) has been named the Region III co-female athlete of the week.  Murphy is the third Pioneer to gain the honor this spring.

Lady Pioneers Win Regional Title

The Alfred State College women's outdoor track & field team won the Region III Championships this weekend.  The title is the first for the women since 2007 and first regional title for ASC during the 2010-11 school year.

The Alfred State College women's outdoor track & field team is one point behind Herkimer CCC after day one of the Region III Championships.  The men's team sits in 3rd in the competition held at SUNY Delhi.

Track Teams Ranked 4th

Both the Alfred State College men's and women's track & field teams are ranked #4 in this week's NJCAA Division III national poll.  The men's team remains 4th for the third straight week while the women fell two spots from last week's poll.

Tracksters Wrap Up Regular Season at Geneseo

The Alfred State College track and field team wrapped up the regular season with a strong performance at the SUNY Geneseo Invitational.

Votava finishes 3rd, Hewlett 4th at Multi

Megan Votava (Alfred Almond) finished 3rd at the Region III Heptathlon while Alex Hewlett (Wellsville) was 4th in the Region III Decathlon.  The pair along with Randy Kelly (Hudson Falls) competed at the two-day event at SUNY Delhi.

Tracksters Compete at Brockport

The Alfred State College track & field team competed in adverse conditions at the SUNY Brockport Invitational.  Abbey Benton (Frewsburg) led the way by qualifying for the NJCAA Division III National Championships in the 10,000 m with a run of 43:40.91.

Women 2nd, Men 4th in latest Track Poll

The Alfred State College women's outdoor track & field team remained ranked #2 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.  The men's team slipped down one spot to #4.

Women 7th, Men 9th at U of R Track Meet

The Alfred State College women's track and field team finished 7th out of 15 teams at the University of Rochester Invitational while the men were 9th.  The Pioneers were able to register 10 more NJCAA National Championship performances.
