Students enrolled in Alfred State College’s motorsports technology program recently traveled to Mooresville and Concord, NC, to get an insider’s view of professional racing.
Alfred State College’s fourth annual “Taste of Wellsville” was another success story as it raised $250 for the SPCA serving Allegany County and the concurrent culinary arts: baking, production and management community bake sale raised a record $2,800 for SkillsUSA, breast cancer research, and the Top Hat Club, the culinary honor society.

Santora, associate professor and chair, Culinary Arts Department, and Debra Burch, (ASC 1979) associate professor, Culinary Arts Department, and Alfred State College SkillsUSA adviser recently traveled to Kansas City, MO, to judge the SkillsUSA national baking and culinary competitions, respectively.
Alfred State College Pioneer Stadium was the place to be as college officials, student athletes, students, football fans, and honored guests gathered for the official “opening” of the stadium’s gateway building Monday night (9/21) as Alfred State College President Dr. John M. Anderson performed the ritual ribbon cutting.
Holly R. Hogan, Hornell, has been appointed by the NYS Governor’s Office to the Alfred State College Council; she succeeds Terri Ross, whose term expired over the summer.

Karen M. Young, associate professor and chair of the Computerized Design and Manufacturing Department of Alfred State College, has been elected chair of that body’s Faculty Senate. The chair is elected for a two-year term and may serve two consecutive terms.
