Alfred State College (ASC) and Alfred University (AU) successfully teamed up, winning a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service: MLK Collegiate Challenge Grant of $1,000 sponsored by the North Carolina Campus Compact. The grant supports efforts of college students to honor Dr. King through service to others.

Gowanda clean upOn Sept. 12, 33 Alfred State students, representing 11 different clubs and organizations, traveled to Gowanda to help clean up and facilitate repairs resulting from the damaging storms on Aug. 9 and 10 of this year.

Both Alfred State College soccer games scheduled for Pioneer Stadium this weekend have been cancelled due to the snow accumulation on the field.  Pioneer Stadium's turf has nearly three inches of snow on top of it currently with more snow expected on Friday.

Clark, Maliszewski, and RichardsonAlfred State College’s fourth annual “Taste of Wellsville” was another success story as it raised $250 for the SPCA serving Allegany County and the concurrent culinary arts: baking, production and management community bake sale raised a record $2,800 for SkillsUSA, breast cancer research, and the Top Hat Club, the culinary honor society.

The Alfred State College volleyball team closed out the home portion of their season on Thursday evening with a straight game sweep, 25-10, 25-19, 25-15, of Finger Lakes CC.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 13-11 (11-10 Region III Division III).

The Alfred State College men's soccer team outshot Jamestown CC 14 to 4 but fell 2-1 in a WNYAC contest in Jamestown on Wednesday afternoon.  The Pioneers are now 6-5-1 on the year and 5-4-1 in Region III Division III play.

Members of the Alfred State College Dairy Judging Team recently competed in two national contests: one in Harrisburg, PA, and one in Madison, WI. The team members include Stephen Gould, Pavilion, agricultural technology major; Kelsie Brennan, Wyoming, agricultural business major; Brittany Spencer, Perry, individual studies major; and Stephanie Spencer, Perry, agricultural technology major.

The women's soccer team at Alfred State College sits in the NJCAA Division III top ten for the fourth straight week.  The Lady Pioneers are currently 9-2-3 (8-2-2 Region III Division III) on the season and sit in the #8 ranking.

The Alfred State College cross country teams have held steady in the latest NJCAA Division III Cross Country poll.  The men are ranked #3 while the women are ranked #5.

The Alfred State College volleyball team raced past Mercyhurst North East 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 in a WNYAC match-up at the Orvis Activities Center on Tuesday evening.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 12-11 overall on the season and 2-3 in WNYAC play.
