  • Longenecker Racks up Awards

    Longenecker finished the season with a 20-4 record.  He won the Region III Championship at 133 lbs. to earn a spot at the National Championships.  At the Nationals, he advanced to the semifinals before falling in a tough match but rebounded to earn 5th place and become the A-State's 27th all-time NJCAA All-American.   read more »
  • Longenecker named Region Athlete of the Week

    Alfred State College wrestler Gallaway Longenekcer (Manheim, PA) has been named the Region III male athlete of the week.  This is the second straight week that an Alfred male athlete has been honored (Andy Omoregie - Indoor Track & Field).  read more »
  • Longenecker finishes 5th

    Alfred State College sophomore wrestler Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA) finished 5th and earned All-American status (133 lb. weight class) at the NJCAA National Championships.  Longenecker is the 27th All-American in A-State history and the first wrestler at 133 lbs. to earn All-American since Troy Almeter finished 4th in 1987.

  • Brackets announced for NJCAA Wrestling Championships

    The brackets for the 2008 NJCAA Wrestling National Championships have been announced.  Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA), Cory Merchant (Cobleskill-Richmondville), and Andy Wright (Hilton) will represent Alfred State College in the event to be held February 22 & 23 in Rochester, MN.  read more »
  • Longenecker wins Regional Title

    Gallaway Longenecker (Manheim, PA) was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler of the Northeast/Region III Championships.  He was the lone Alfred State College champion as he won the 133 lb. title.  read more »
  • Pioneers compete at Jamestown Open

    In their final regular season tournament of the season, the Alfred State College wrestling team fared well at the Jamestown CC Open.  Fifteen teams competed at the tournament.  read more »
  • Pioneers fall to Mercyhurst North East

    The Alfred State College wrestling team could not overcome four forfeits and fell 33-12 to Mercyhurst North East in a WNYAC dual match.  The Pioneers fall to 1-5 on the season while the Saints improve to 5-5 on the season.  read more »
  • Hughson finishes 8th at NYS Championships

    Jordan Hughson (Holley) was earned an 8th place finish at the annual New York State Championships this weekend at the University of Buffalo.  As a team, Alfred State finished 17th overall and 3rd in the NJCAA standings.  read more »
  • Athletes Back on Campus

    Alfred State College athletes are back on campus preparing to begin play in 2008.  The men's and women's basketball teams, the wrestling team, and the swimming team began practicing on Sunday while the Indoor Track & Field team returns to campus on Thursday.  read more »
