The Alfred State College women’s soccer team registered their third straight victory, 4-1 over Mercyhurst North East, on Saturday afternoon as the college celebrated Homecoming 2010. The blue & gold are now 3-1 on the year.

Alfred State College will induct four new members into the athletic department Hall of Fame this Friday evening. Jessie Smith (Fredonia), Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove), Audrey Rath (Medina), and Mo Parks (Avoca) were named to the first team while Jackie Matteson (Greece Arcadia) and Therese Hubbel (Bishop Kearney) were second team selections.
In a back and forth soccer match at Pioneer Stadium, Genesee CC advanced to the Region III Division III Pool A finals with a 7-6 penalty kick victory over Alfred State College. ASC and GCC both scored twice in the first half but neither team could find the back of the net in the second half or either of the two 10-minute overtime periods.
