The Alfred State women's soccer team has climbed into the NJCAA Division III poll for the first time in 2012. The Lady Pioneers debut in the second poll of the season with the #5 ranking.
The Alfred State women's soccer team earned a 4-0 victory over Jamestown CC to run their winning streak to three games and improve their overall record to 3-1, 3-0 Region III Division III.
Soccer player Kali Muhleisen (Alfred Almond) and Jedadiah Platt (Appleton/Barker) have been named the Alfred State athletes of the week by the Sports Information department.
Kali Mulheisen (Alfred Almond) recorded her first collegiate hat trick as the Alfred State women's soccer team defeated Jefferson CC 4-1 in the 2012 home opener. The Lady Pioneers are now 2-1 on the season.
Thunderstorms in the Delhi area halted the Alfred State women's soccer game at SUNY Delhi prior to the 70th minute forcing the cancellation of the game. The two teams will try to make up the game from the beginning later in the season.

The NCAA Division III membership committee announced this week that it has granted exploratory status to the Alfred State athletic program. Alfred State submitted the NCAA application in January.
Six members of the Alfred State College women's soccer team have been honored by the WNYAC. Holli Pierce (Livonia), Jenna Lynn (York), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were 1st team selections while Lacee Pearl (Olean) and Danielle Henry (Arkport) were 2nd team.
The Alfred State College women's soccer team has landed four players on the 2011 All-Region team. Jenna Lynn (York) was named 1st team while Holli Pierce (Livonia), Maura Tuffey (Albany/The Academy of the Holy Names), and Simone Delaney (Canisteo Greenwood) were named 2nd team.
