Alfred State College All-American basketball Thia Smith (Elmira Free) has decided to continue her collegiate career at CW Post after two stellar seasons as a Lady Pioneer. CW Post, located in Brookville, NY, is a campus of Long Island University and is a member of the East Coast Conference.

Smith and McLaughlin Named All-American

Alfred State College sophomores Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) and Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) have been named NJCAA Division II All-Americans. Smith was selected to the 2nd team while McLaughlin was a 3rd team selection.

Trio of A-State Alums help Wesleyan to Nationals

A trio of Alfred State College women's basketball alumni helped the Roberts Wesleyan basketball team to a 22-12 record and a 4th place finish at the National Christian College Athletic Association. Erin Farney (South Seneca), Jaslynn Lee (Rush Henrietta), and Erin Vess (Irondequoit) all were key contributors to the Lady Raiders.

Alfred State College women's basketball coach Gina Boyd has been named the Region III Division II Coach of the Year. Boyd led the Lady Pioneers to a 17-9 record and the #2 seed in the regional tournament.

Alfred State College sophomore forward Anthia Smith (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III Division II Player of the Year. Smith was joined by teammate Tiffany McLaughlin (Wellsville) on the All-Region first team while Dasaundra Carr (Boys & Girls) was a third team selection.

Seniors Go Out In Style by Upsetting Genesee

The five seniors at Alfred State College made their last home game at the Orvis Activities Center a memorable with a 64-59 victory over #9 Genesee CC on Thursday evening. With the win the Lady Pioneers improve to 16-8 (7-4 WNYAC & 7-2 Region III Division II) while the Lady Cougars fall to 20-4 (8-3 WNYAC & 8-1 Region III Division II).
